Points + Miles

Points are money. Do the math like it.

Every tool here shows its formula. No “points are worth about…” hand-waving — a number, its working, and a verdict.

Points value calculator

What is a point actually worth?

No black box: value = (cash price − taxes & fees) ÷ points, in cents. Compare the same flight, same cabin — anything else is marketing.

5.58¢per point

Excellent — the kind of redemption worth transferring for.

Worked example pre-loaded (a premium fare at 37,000 points). Program ratios refresh from live data when the award engine lands at P3 — figures here are sample data, the formula is the real one.

Transfer bonuses

The 30% that changes the answer

Transfer 37,000 points during a 30% bonus and 48,100 arrive — the same seat for 11,100 fewer points out of your balance. Bonuses are the one legitimate cheat code in points; the watch for them is a standing job in the clean system.

The golden rule

Never transfer on a hope

Transfers are usually irreversible. Confirm the award seat exists, run it through the calculator, and only then move points. The education guides — portals vs transfers, and how transfer partners work — migrate here with the content in P1.

Get the fare alerts

Good fares, first — never noise

One email when a checked fare or a transfer bonus is genuinely worth your points. No daily blasts, no selling your address.

Sample surface on staging — signups connect to the real list when the data layer lands (blueprint M6).

Coming with the engine

The full award toolkit lands at P3

Live program ratios, freshness-checked (anything over 30 days old gets flagged), transfer-bonus watches and a scored optimizer — the lifted award engine behind these same screens.
